Long, Long, Long

So its been a long, busy time. My brother has come and gone, work has been really busy, and the first not an Airplane Songwriter Showcase was successfully completed.

Having Joe here was really cool. There were a couple of times when I thought he was turning into angry Joe, and I never could tell if he was having a really good time (as I am a pretty inadequate host), but he seemed more then happy that he came and talked much of all the new friends and cool people he had met. I hope he will come back. Then maybe Kathy could show him around more, she is much more patient with revisiting touristy stuff people want to see. I am a "lets move on, Ive seen this already" kindof host. The worst kind there can be.

Work has really picked up, which is craptacular. I mean it is great that I am getting more hours, but it sucks that I am getting more hours. I need every free second I can get to continue the endless pursuit of not an Airplane perfection and world dominance. I mean every free second.

Dave and I hit the studio last week and that was exciting, and still is. It is still really early on to tell anything, but nevertheless, I remain optimistic. I think this is going to be a completely new feel and direction and that is pretty cool. I am just trying really hard not to lose sleep over it, and to not let each little detail consume me.

I miss writing. I am just too busy these days to ever pick up my guitar and fuck around to see what I come up with. Most of the time that I do have my guitar in hand, I am trying to productive in practicing the existing material, and even then, I spend a lot of time without a guitar in my hand, because I have to focus a lot of energy on promoting and booking, etc.

I am just venting. The most boring blog entry ever, but one of the most relaxing for me.
